General Information
Currency
New Zealand operates under a decimal currency system, with 100 cents equalling one dollar.
Coins are available in $2 and $1, coloured gold; 50c and 20c, coloured silver; and 10c, coloured copper. Notes comprise $100, $50, $20, $10 and $5.
Electricity
New Zealand’s domestic electricity supply is 230-240 volts AC at 50 Hz. The standard three-pin plugs are fitted to domestic appliances.

Taxes
GST, Goods and Services Tax, is 15% and applies to goods and services purchased in New Zealand. Taxes are included in the tariff.
Time Zone
There is one time zone in New Zealand: New Zealand Standard Time (NZST). During daylight saving, New Zealand observes New Zealand Daylight Time (NZDT).
